Missing someone isn't about how long it has been since you've seen them

Acknowledging that they no longer want to be that person you remember because they’ve moved on and grown to be someone else and respecting their decision not to want to be by your side in life anymore and still managing not to take it personally all the while remembering them constantly, not sure if you should hold on to the memories you hold dear or dismiss them. Missing someone who is still alive is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. ~ Oliva Sullen
