When you are treating a person a lot better than they treat you

When you are treating a person a lot better than they treat you

If you gave your everything and it’s still not enough, it’s time to move on. I hope one day those people will realize how much you cared about them. ~ Alain Verreault

Love, respect, kindness and understanding has to work both ways otherwise you end up the one giving all the time and making allowances and in the end it gets you no where except a lot of heart ache and sleepless nights. ~ Mary Sheehan

It’s not about getting a reward. Friendships are about give and take. One can’t be doing all the work. If you’re giving your best to a friend or a relationship and your best isn’t good enough, if you’re giving respect and the respect isn’t returned, if you’re asked to comprise your morals, if you’re being ridiculed or embarrassed, or made fun of, if you’re being ignored most of the time. those are just examples of not being treated well and it’s probably time to change the people around you. ~ Brigitte Nicole

To all those folks who pour their hearts out hoping the person they’re pining for will see your status, they don’t care about you or how much you say you’re done because they know all they have to do is call and you’ll be there waiting. If they can’t make time for you, they are basically saying they don’t care. Show respect for yourself and let them go. ~ Lisa Harter

If it is a co-worker or neighbor or someone else not in your circle, then keep treating them well because we don’t let others behavior determine who we are. But regarding those we are in relationship with, it’s not about treating them badly in return but setting boundaries and removing them from our circle. I don’t let people mistreat me. I don’t let unsafe people into my circle. ~ Michelle Laabs

People may give a lot of themselves, but it depends on if the other person values what is given. Some people don’t have much physically, but they will give their whole world the way they know how. Also, it depends on if you love them enough to give and not expect much in return and have peace with that. The other person’s happiness makes me happy. So giving doesn’t hurt for me, because I want to give and I don’t really expect much in return because I like to be self sufficient. But, after awhile, if they don’t seem to consider my emotional needs enough, then it often ends. ~ Jen Boddaert
