When you are in the final days of your life

When you are in the final days of your life, what will you want

Always try to make the most of the time you have with others, be positive & encouraging. Create the moments that will soothe the soul!

The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the living and the dying.
At a certain moment, a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don’t call this my “deathbed”. Let it be called “The Bed Of Life”, and let my body be taken to help others lead fuller lives.
Give my sight to someone who has never seen a sunrise, a baby’s face, or love for them from another’s eyes.
Give my heart to a person whose own heart has pain.
Give my blood to someone who was pulled from the wreckage of an accident, so that they might live to see their grandchildren play.
Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week.
Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make the crippled walk.
Explore every corner of my brain.
Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that, someday, a person without speech will be able to shout with joy, and someone without hearing will be able to hear the sound of raindrops against a window.
Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults, and all my sins against my family, friends, and fellow man. God forgave my sins long, long ago. I already gave my soul to God.
If, by chance, you wish to remember me, allow it to be done with a kind word or deed to someone who needs you.
This is a way in which you will know for certain that I live on!

When my dad was in his final days, he wanted the quilt at the hospice to keep his body warm, and he wanted his family to keep his heart warm. That was it. I won’t forget that lesson. ~ Sandy Moss

With my sister, I had the privilege of comforting and nurturing my Mum in her final hours recently. No talk of achievements, money or ego. She only spoke of those she loved. You probably need to experience this directly to understand the gravity and impact it will have. Live your best life. No excuses! ~ Leann Mackay

A very good relationship with the family is very important, and it’s nothing to compare to any money you have or what you own. Cannot take them in your grave, but love from your family will always be the best feeling of being loved and respect by family. ~ Katerinah Berkovitz
